Inspired by patterns found on everyday items, such as the print on envelope linings, I create various adaptations of those designs through collage which are then screen printed and quite often, combined with a contrasting illustration of a plant, animal or everyday object. I tend to begin my drawings by looking for patterns within the subject matter, which I deliberately exaggerate through scale and colour to help give the overall image a sense of character, beauty and vibrancy.

My designs have been printed onto paper, wood, plastic and recently, I have been printing onto fabric and producing cushions, purses and small canvasses which have been selling in several shops in and around Edinburgh.
