5 Reasons Why Pets Are Good For Our Mental Health
Pets and Mental Health
Today on #WorldMentalHealthDay we are looking at pets and mental health and why our animals are so good for us. Here are our top 5 reasons.
1. They offer companionship and stop us feeling lonely.
Having a pet to share our daily routine with means there is always someone to talk to – they are great listeners!
2. They encourage us to get out and about and exercise.
We all know exercising is good for us physically and mentally and having a dog means getting out of the house, getting some fresh air and going for a walk.
3. Having a pet makes us feel needed and gives us a purpose to our day.
Some days when we just want to curl up and sleep we motivate ourselves to get up and look after our pets.
4. They help us feel secure.
Having a pet in the house can calm any anxieties we have about security.
5. They love us unconditionally!
Regardless of what we look like, what problems we might have, how wealthy we are or what status we have in the community a pet loves us just as we are. There is no purer love.
Give your pet an extra cuddle today and thank them for enriching your life.
