Happy New Year, folks!
Well, that’s another year that has flown by – did 2015 really just happen?!
Like most people do at this time of year, I have been spending a little bit of time reflecting over the last 12 months and if I were to sum up 2015 in 3 words I would probably say Growing, Exciting and Challenging. As my business and myself are so closely aligned (it is my baby after all) those 3 words resonate in my personal life as well as professionally. From adding to our already growing collections, receiving funding to completely revamp the website, doubling our turnover from the year before in the first 6 months of 2015 and gaining 30 new stockists – it is without a doubt that 2015 has been a smashing year for me/us/the business, tho it’s not been without it’s blood, sweat toil and tears! I was also thrilled to be a runner up in last year’s Great British Entrepreneur Awards in the Micro Business category in November which (along with my super customers, their continuing support and positive feedback, encouragement from friends and family and the overall satisfaction I get from producing products I love) felt very rewarding, like a stamp seal of approval on my designs.
It’s good to reflect. But, as we look back it’s easy to start dwelling on things we wish we had done differently/better, lamenting over wrong decisions and getting upset over things we wish we had done. Before you know it, you’ve already broken 1 of your resolutions by reaching for the bottle of wine. So rather than regret, let’s rejoice and remember the good times 2015 brought.
I’ve been doing just that and honestly – it makes looking forward to 2016 so much more exciting. Have a wee look at my favourite 2015 moments, some were big, some small and some just plain silly but nonetheless all were important in shaping my 2015.
Wishing you all a happy, healthy, peaceful and prosperous 2016.
